Statement from the President of Freedom Healthcare Staffing:
The safety and security of our travelers is our most important priority at all times, and especially due to the heightened concerns for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. To assure our travelers of this commitment, we have required all of our existing and new public health and hospital clients to contractually obligate themselves to:
pay our nurses commensurate for the value they are providing to healthcare organizations during this time;
provide the same level of personal protective equipment to our staff as their own employees in direct patient care positions;
deliver the same level of medical care to any of our staff that is provided to their own staff in the event of exposure or display of symptoms without charge; and
maintain pay and housing for our nurses as a result of suspected exposure or illness and are subject to mandatory isolation or quarantine.
We will not execute any agreement or travel any nurse to an assignment that does not include these provisions. If at any time while on assignment, you believe that you are being asked to practice under PPE or care circumstances that are at variance with that being asked of an organization’s own staff, or being required to work in specialties that are beyond your training and experience, we request that you decline to proceed and immediately call your recruiter to report the situation. We will intervene at the executive level to ensure your safety. Should a circumstance arise that you are unsure of, again contact your recruiter who will connect you with our nursing managers to review the situation.
